Spitzberg Treaty

Just reading about Ms. Diana Wallis interest in Spitzberg an island just 1450 miles of Norway. The Spitsbergen Treaty of 1920 recognizes Norwegian sovereignty, and the 1925 Svalbard Act made Svalbard a full part of the Kingdom of Norway (Wikipedia).

I do not know why she seems so interested in EU having a say on this piece of Norwegian land but I can only speculate in access to natural resources being one? Apparently Ms. Wallis was the architect behind the ban of all imports of seal products to EU, well done! I would categorise this in the same category as banning fox hunting in the UK and plans to ban sportfishing and leave the World to be ruled by the animals. No wonders you can spot seals some twenty miles up Salmon rivers, natural habitat? I don't think so...

No Ms. Wallis, please leave Spitzberg to its legitimate ruler, I think Norway wants EU's interference as much as UK wanted to have Argentinian's rule the Falklands (7910 miles from the UK) in 1982.
I suggest you go down there instead, apparently the penguins are struggling there http://www.falklandsconservation.com/wildlife/penguins/peng-threats.html
